USA 2013

It has been a while since the last post! 2013 whizzed past too quickly and here is 2014!! The last year ended well with our trip to USA. I remember kiddos were totally electrified over their 1st trip to the west coast. Holiday never fail to make hearts merry, much so because leisure takes over work and thus create unpressurised moments to really learn and explore another part of the world.

So what is the best part of the trip? Grand Canyon, I must say! For the kiddos, undoubtedly the various theme parks! We drove from LA to Las Vegas and puzzled at the thought of how the once parched, arid landscape that supported only the hardiest creatures could evolve into a glittering, bustling city of "sin".

Stopping over at Las Vegas is probably one of the better ways to get to Grand Canyon. We booked a day tour to one of the world's wonders. Hoover Dam - our first stop before the actual destination! Unfortunately, we were overly drained and yes, blamed it on our lazy bums.. we actually dozed past the stop! Finally, Grand Canyon welcomed us at an unfriendly chill of 6 deg celsius! Brrrrr… Wanting to get the most from this trip, we abandoned our tour bus and stylishly hired a pink happy jeep for a private tour!

No words can adequately explain the wonders of Grand Canyon. We were fortunate to have captured spectacular views of that inspiring landscape that is amazingly carved out by the Colorado River in Arizona! Nature is indeed the purest form of beauty!

Can you remember?

Kiddos had their wildest time in LA Disneyland, California Adventure Park, San Diego Sea world, Lego land and Universal Studios! Disneyland - supposedly the happiest place on earth, do you agree?
Universal Studio tour left us speechless and California Adventure Park's Radiator Spring Racers, inspired by Disney Pixar Movie 'Cars" left our adrenaline rushing high so effortlessly!

 Radiator's Spring - California Adventure's Park

Let it snow on us - LA Disneyland

Talk about Hollywood - city that portrays fame and glamour. Behind all that glitter & glam, is the lifestyle murky and gloom?

Walk of Fame - Terrazzo and brass stars embedded along the sideways of Hollywood Boulevard.

And not to mention, we had a swelling good time grabbing best bargains from Le Creuset, Abercombie, Polo Ralph, Tommy Hilfiger, Bose and so many more! Our Travel Kaki - The Pohs, certainly would agree with us on this - We harvested exceedingly more than we anticipated! Gosh, shopping in USA is a disease - an addiction!

The Pohs

Above all, we wanna give thanks from the bottom of our hearts to God who faithfully protected us and graciously granted us joys throughout the entire trip!

Welcome on board, Brave!

Welcome to be a part of us, Brave! We called him Brave cos he was unusually timid and hopefully he grows to be a bit more dauntless. We believe he is not a pedigree, more likely a cross between a poodle and a terrier. It was really an unintentional purchase! A mere visit to the Pasir Ris Farm had plunged us into years of living with this little creature and an unwavering commitment that comes along with it! But no regrets at all! Our furry friend is so capable of making lovey dovey eyes at us, begging us for a belly rub, wagging his bobtail to signal his readiness to play and is never bored with anyone at home. Oh, how the kids adore him! Kristen loves to be the newly promoted Jie Jie and one of her favourite statements to Brave - 'Although Jie Jie scolds you, I still love u very very much." That sounds very familiar, an echo of what I always said to her. Gor Gor Elkan is protective of the little one and yes, stories of a brotherhood are beginning to unfold. Brave, You are probably one of the best choices we have ever made!

A new home!

Thinking back, the start of 2013 was both exciting and full of mad rushes! Yes, we bought a new place, a home closer to nature! It is refreshing to arise each day to the chirping of the birds, the lovely scent of fresh air and the soothing nature's colors that never fail to greet you. The kids love this place to bits and of course they made this promise,"Mummy, we are gonna live here forever n ever!" Well, let's see if they will hold true to the promise. But as much as mummy loves to, it is quite unlikely!

Where we love is home - home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.  - Oliver Wendell Holmes. So kids, home is where your heart is! :)
